Sumana Bhattacharjee
Sumana Bhattacharjee is an English poet from India.
She was born and brought up in the city of Kolkata and belongs to a family of teachers. Her father was a Bengali poet; so quite naturally, she inherited the spirit of poetry from her family and environment.
She was interested in the arts from a very tender age. It was during her time at college that she started dabbling in poetry, drama and music. She writes short stories and contributes to other streams of literature as well.
She is inspired by Thomas Grey, Keats and John Milton.
Sumana runs an online poetry group of her own. Her poems have been published in several international and national anthologies and blogs. Some of her poems have been translated to Spanish. She represents India as a Regional Director, on behalf of the Soflay Literary Foundation.
She hopes to provide a platform one day for upcoming, talented and unrecognized poets.
