This book titled “Fluid Mechanics 1” is the first half of a two part book series on the subject. This book covers the Introduction of the subject, Properties of fluid, Fluid Statics and Fluid Kinematics in detail. The second part shall cover the portion of Fluid Dynamics, Open Channel Flow and Dimentional Analysis. The author is also in the process of writing two more books on the subject “Surveying” and “Concrete Technology”
This is his second book. His first book was titled-“Introduction to Earthquake engineering” which was published on May, 2020. The book was a huge success and received wide acclaim from both the students as well as the teaching fraternity.
Back then, he was, and still is the first faculty member of a public technical institution in Sikkim to have written a book and remains the sole one to have done it twice with the release of this one. Both his works are based on the AICTE syllabus of the respective subject followed in the state.
Nawneet Chettri
Nawneet Chettri is presently working as a Lecturer in Department of Civil Engineering, Center for Computers and Communication Technology (CCCT), Chisopani, South Sikkim. He has also worked as Guest Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering, Sikkim Institute of Science and Technology (SIST), Chisopani, South Sikkim. He started his teaching career in 2018 as a Part-time Lecturer in Department of Civil Engineering, Advanced Technical Training Center (ATTC), Bardang, East Sikkim.
He is the youngest and among the very few, if not the only one, to have been employed in all the three public technical educational institutions in the state at some point in time.
He completed his graduation from North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), Arunachal Pradesh in 2015. He cleared his GATE exam in 2016. He is the only son of Mr K. B Chettri and Mrs Purnima Tewari.

Besides books, the author has written numerous columns and opinions in esteemed local news outlets from time to time in a diverse range of contemporary social issues.
The author aspires to help develop and promote a writing culture among the highly qualified and competent teaching fraternity of Sikkim. He feels that it would be highly motivating for the students if their school or college teacher is the author of the book they study from. That would particularly help to make our students globally competent by increasing their confidence on the subject matter and in general; improve the overall educational standard of the state manifolds.
