Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalJuly-kind follows feelings. Unlike cryptic and complicated poetry, this is the art of simplistic surfing through almost three heartbreaks- a collection of odes of anger, hatred rarely but mostly pain, pain, and pain; and this light yet heavy feeling that you can't quite describe when you think of him or her; like the butterflies that once fluttered in your stomach turned to double-sided blades slicing and cutting from the inside. During these times, it is easier to pin feelings down onto paper to prove that it's something solid and...real. July-kind is a book that normalizes going crazy when lovesick and when heartbroken...
Chandele Kart
Chandele Kart(she/her) is a poet, artist, and thriving student. As a fifteen-year-old Indian, she knew it would be difficult to persuade buyers to read her writing. Feeling trapped by the stereotypes regarding young, Indian authors, under the pseudonym Chandele Kart, the author has achieved making her name sound American and has managed to retain her original name at the same time (Chandhini Karthik). She encourages her readers to pin down feelings onto paper, cut themself some slack, and acknowledge every step of the process.
She has received splendid marks in her English Language A, and IGCSE Pearson O level Exam, and plans to pursue Literature further.
Her debut book, July-kind, is a collection of poetry exploring the themes of finding someone to love, watching them lose interest, watching them move on, and refusing to accept the end of a summer "thing" that included "spontaneous" kisses and getting drenched under the seasonal rain.
Chandele lives with her mother and her golden retriever, Aura in Jaipur. You can find her dancing in the rain, or curled up with a good read in libraries with a cup of hot chocolate, or listening to music.
