Practical Guide of Gynaecology is a short book on gynaecology written in simple language. Almost all gynaecological problems commonly faced in practice have been discussed and authenticated recommendations have been presented. Dr. Shanti Roy, Dr. Himanshu Roy
Dr. Shanti Roy is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist in Patna. Since graduating from Patna Medical College in 1962, she has been working in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology in Bihar. She joined Bihar State Medical Service in 1963 and was appointed as a teacher of obstetrics and gynaecology in 1965. She provided her services as a teacher as well as a clinician in various medical colleges in Bihar and finally retired as a professor and head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Patna Medical College and Hospital. She is serving women though her private hospital after retiring from Government services and has a deep interest in public awareness programs and the promotion of the health of common women.
Her services in the field of medicine were recognised by the Government of India, and she was awarded Padmashree by the President of India (2020).
Dr. Himanshu Roy is the director of Srijan Fertility Clinic, Kankarbagh, Patna. He is an obstetrician and gynaecologist with a special interest and expertise in reproductive medicine. He started the first dedicated infertility clinic in Bihar, in 1999. The first IVF baby of Bihar goes to his credit in 2003 He had been a brilliant student since his childhood and has many national awards from the Federation of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of India including the Young Author award (2003), Kumud Tamaskar award (2005), Best Paper Presentation at ISAR (2011) and Corion award (2005). Currently, he is the secretary of the IFS Bihar Chapter and chairperson of the Infertility Committee of Patna Obstetric and Gynaecology Society. He is the co-editor of Stree Rog Gyan, a book of gynaecology in Hindi, and has many publications in JOGI.
