Dharam Pal Singh Chauhan
Professor D.P.S. Chauhan (Dharam Pal Singh Chauhan) was born in Karaundi, a small village near Roorkee (then in U.P.) in 1934. He graduated from Agra University in 1961 and is a triple post graduate; M.A. English (Agra University), M.A. English (Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar, Uttarakhand), M.A. Economics (Meerut University, now CCS University). He topped the list of candidates in M.A. English, Gurukul Kangri University and was first class first in this examination.
Professor Chauhan served as a lecturer for two years at Gurukul Mahavidyalaya Jwalapur, Haridwar, and for one year at D.J. Polytechnic, Baraut (Meerut) (1965–1966). He worked at S.S.V. (P.G) college, Hapur Meerut University and later in C.C.S. University, Meerut (U.P.) first as a lecturer and then a reader from September 1966 to June 1994. He retired as a reader and H.O.D. He participated in four summer institutes in English Language teaching sponsored by British Council, New Delhi (each institute was of forty days’ duration).
He is still engaged in teaching English. He is a voracious reader and a competent teacher.
