This Is It from Notion Press, questions the entire fabric of philosophy of life as we know it.
Notion Press, India’s fastest growing self-publishing company, publishes Sreenivas Madhira’s This Is It.
The author, Sreenivas Madhira a.k.a. Sree, is currently a resident of Perth, Australia. Sree has always had an inclination to be a writer and a philosopher (probably not in the same order) and finally gave in to one of his many such urges to write.
The book primarily deals with questions regarding life after death and the preconceived notions we have about religion and god. The protagonist is going through a rough patch in his life when he dies and meets with an ‘angel/god’ who forces him to question his own deep-held prejudices and ill-conceived notions. Our hero tries to counter with his own arguments, deep-seated convictions and life experiences but in the end, in the face of unswerving, cold logic and reason, he finds his beliefs shattered, his notions destroyed and the whole philosophy of his life that served him until then, upturned.
The protagonist of this story is someone like you and me—a relatively nondescript job, a not too earth-shattering a life and going through an all too familiar domestic crisis. And he is a philosopher at heart, but then, who amongst us is not, right? But, more importantly, he has built a comfort zone for himself—his beliefs about god, religion, afterlife and karma make him feel safe and even more crucially, at peace with the world. But then he meets with a strange, hard-to-describe entity. And, the entire fabric of philosophy of life gets torn to pieces as the entity makes him question his deep-held convictions and beliefs. Will his belief system survive the onslaught of cold logic and reason? And if it doesn’t, what will it do to him and his approach to the rest of his life?
