Notion Press’ Latest is the Ultimate Guide for Silver Pomfret Farming

Notion Press, India’s leading self-publishing platform, presents  Breeding and Farming of the Silver Pomfret Pampus argenteus by Dr. Charles M. James, a  technical guide on breeding the Silver Pomfret Pampus argenteus for potential entrepreneurs and farmers.

Breeding and Farming of the Silver Pomfret Pampus argenteus shares the technical knowledge available so far on the breeding and grow-out production of the most wanted marine food fish,  i.e; the Silver Pomfret Pampus argenteus (Euphrasen, 1788). It is a handbook specifically designed to help in establishing commercial silver pomfret hatchery and farming systems.

Silver Pomfret is a popular fish species in several countries. Moreover, it enjoys high export market demand in India as well as in other countries. Consumption of this marine fish species has immense health benefits such as protection against hyperlipidemia, high cholesterol,  coronary atherosclerosis, and other cardiovascular diseases. The market demand for silver pomfret has increased in recent years because of the decline of fish landings due to overfishing, ecological changes, and depleting wild stock.

This book provides in-depth technical knowledge in designing a commercial Recycled Aquaculture System (RAS) for the production of 200 t marketable size silver pomfret per year. Working principles and capacities of different equipment in the production system are described in detail with pictures.

In addition to contributing new project ideas for the business communities, the technical descriptions of this book also would enlighten the theoretical knowledge of the student communities. The book contains 98 pictures, 8 tables, and 156 references.

Dr. Charles M. James is a retired scientist and has considerable experience in tropical marine fish and shrimp hatchery and commercial grow-out production systems. He is well experienced in breeding and hatchery production of several marine fish species that include groupers, seabass, sea bream, cobia, pompano, etc.
