She began writing poetry in earnest in her late sixties, primarily for her good friends, and the pleasure they derived from the words she weaved. Apart for her love of poetry, literature, and medicine, Dr. Prabhat Nalini Mohanty has strong emotional ties to her hometown of Bhubaneswar in the state of Odisha, India. She grew up in the city, and finds that it constantly fires her imagination, and urges her to pen down her feelings.
