In 1970, his family moved to Hoskins, West New Britain Province where he began his schooling at Buvussi Community School five years later. He did his secondary education at Hoskins High School from 1981 to 1984, and in 1989, he entered Dauli Teachers College and graduated a year later with a Certificate in Primary Teaching.

While teaching, he completed a Diploma in Everyday English on flexible mode with the College of Professional Management (Great Britain), which gave him a solid foundation in English. He returned to the classroom in 2003 and was elevated to secondary level. He now teaches English and Accounting.
