Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalABOUT THE BOOK
The Vedas are the earliest documents of the human mind that we possess. They are the most ancient literary monuments of the human race. The study of the Vedas is nothing but a search for the Truth, nothing but understanding ourselves, nothing but to know why we are born in this world and where we will be going when we drop this physical body. The Upanishads are the concluding portions of the Vedas containing their knowledge aspects. The philosophy of the Upanishads speaks about the identity of the Supreme Soul, the Brahman, the individual soul, the Atman, their mutual relationship, the Universe (jagat) and man’s place in it. While Vedas and the Upanishads lay down a theoretical framework for the study Sage Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras or Aphorisms lay down practical guidelines for achieving that objective by analyzing the nature of the ubiquitous element within us called the 'mind'. They help us to realize our identity with the Divine Self, to make us aware and tune ourselves with our own intrinsic nature.
This booklet, originally published as articles in a website, attempts to present them as one garland of the three ancient gems of Indian wisdom.
