Shane’s story was bound to be different from the very start, tracing all the way back to his birth in Newcastle, South Africa 12^th March 1977, at the height of the apartheid regime. Yet even though ruled to see racial differences, from his childhood, he saw humaniy as one species.

This viewpoint extended when in a now democratic South Africa, (1995) he attended university. Actually a very learned man –he has 3 degrees – a B.A., B.A. Honours, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education as well as 5 various diplomas. But, that is not the only impressive set of numbers in his life. Shane Manilal is a miraculous survivor of 11 car accidents and 13 motorcycle accidents!

In his first motorcycle accident in 2004, he flatlined, but was revived miraculously, and remained comatose for 6 weeks. He astutes this ‘miraculous’ rebirth in a sense to the fact that being a school teacher at that time, was prayed for by various faiths and races. He sarcastically says that we should say, ‘Human being from India,’ or, ‘Human Being from Africa,’ or ‘Human Being from Europe,’ and not the other way around.

This ethos of ‘oneness’, he painstakingly typed in his debut 500-page trilogy with a single finger of his now ‘main’ left hand due to the loss of mobility in his right hand. This effort in itself is a noble cause – to inspire, and to spread the message he feels he was born again to tell because aside from the effort it endured to type, that said left hand is beyond ‘special. Unlike his right hand, with only one heart/lifeline, his left hand actually has two!

Shane Manilal is determined to have his trilogy touch as many lives possible, and it is his mission to have his message reach millions. As a person, he is a story within himself, his life like no other, plus intense knowledge to share in a very casual way.
