Author Name: Priyanka Bhatt | Format: Paperback | Genre : Poetry | Other Details

When I asked him to be the poetry I could write about,

he kissed me softly and left.

Since then, my words have been oozing pain.

Today’s instant make-up, instant break-up generation have no time to spare time at all. They prefer enjoying eternity in moments to waiting eternally for that moment. Hence, these micro tales have become the latest fad.

Minuscules is a collection of unique micro tales and short stories that are spread over various themes. From horror to social issues to romance, these tales leave no topic unwritten about, no emotion unexplored. Though told with brevity, the impact of these stories can be more lingering than that of novels. To-the-point, poignant, relatable - this micro fiction book can be read by anyone in today’s time - a teenager and an adult alike. Its varied range of themes is the cherry on the cake.

Minuscules is a book that is sure to bring a smile to your face and tears to your eyes – and stay with you for a very long time.

May the stories make a home in your heart!

Don’t leave me the way you leave others.

Some things are permanent indeed.

Like love, like regret.

And trust me homey,

I’ll be your both.

Priyanka Bhatt

Priyanka Bhatt is an English teacher, poet and writer. Nurtured solely by her mother, she has witnessed many tempests in her life. She stands tall and strong in the face of adversities because that is the only option she has. After completing her Masters in English from the University of Calcutta, she was badly stuck in her nine to five job. Long working hours, impolite behaviour of the colleagues, dark looks, frowned faces, and subdued murmurs almost suffocated her dreams. She was searching for a way to escape this drudgery. Getting support from her mother, she left her job and began her journey of exploration.

My readers praise me saying that my lines are beautifully penned.

Little do they know that they are just painfully penned.

Writing gives her happiness; it gives her confidence. She writes almost all the time when she is not teaching her students. It helps her to form new relationships with the characters she chooses to write about. She has even authored three English guidebooks, based on ICSE and ISC syllabus that are read by thousands of students in her hometown, Kolkata. Immense love from her children gives her hope amid desolation. Their incessant rants and innocent banters keep her going.

Priyanka’s new book Minuscules explores myriad of themes like romance, unrequited proposals, love, loss, betrayal, social and political issues, femininity, patriarchy, everyday life, and war. They are conveyed, not in an explicit manner, but through hints and suggestions. The brevity of the tales acts as a deception. What appears to be a tiny story is actually a narrative full of multiple interpretations.

She hopes to continue her creative exploration and write more and more, for her readers, for herself. She has found her antidote to pain and trauma in writing. The flaws that have formed a permanent residence in her, she loves them all. The scars that make her more human, she loves them all. She owns them with all her tears and all her smiles.

Your thoughts keep me awake on some nights.

I toss and turn, with no comfort around.

And then, I remember,

how I made it here.
