My Colour is Love

Author Name: Jhelum Biswas Bose | Format: Paperback | Genre : Poetry | Other Details

When the second wave of the pandemic hit the world, it spared no one and shook the very foundation of life. To deal with these difficult times, Jhelum turned to writing poems—poetry that kept her flame of hope alive. The wail of ambulances kept her awake all night. She used those traumatic waking hours to compose her poems and then sent it out as messages of comfort to friends who were feeling low. And also, to those feeling high. This endeavour gave her immense satisfaction and joy. The topics of these poems are often meditative, always compassionate, sometimes quirky and fun, and sometimes ruminations on life as it happened around her. My Colour is Love holds within its pages a selection of these hope-filled verses.

The poems in My Colour is Love are like a warm hug on a tense day. Drops of hope in a difficult moment. Each of the 81 poems comes soaked in positive energy, promising to leave the reader with a distinct feeling of joy.

Jhelum Biswas Bose

Jhelum Biswas Bose is a self-proclaimed dreamcatcher, wordsmith and flower witch. Her motto in life is “I do what I dream; I dream what I do”. She loves dabbling with words and then stringing them together to create poems, short stories, articles on beauty and healing, and WhatsApp messages. Jhelum dabbles in flowers and fragrances, challenges norms and stirs up a storm of flavours and fragrances.
As an extension of her calling, she offers healing therapy to bruised souls and teaches different aspects of flower psychometry. Jhelum has worked as a beauty editor with magazines like Good Housekeeping, Women’s Health and Harper’s Bazaar. Later she took up a marketing role at Sephora India and Satya Paul.
In 2014, Jhelum had to take a sabbatical from work due to ill health. However, this proved to be a boon: Her practice gave her tools to self-reflect, focus and understand how she could serve others.
As she healed herself with alternative therapies, she began learning them as well and created a brand of beauty products called Jhelum Loves.
Her debut book Phool ProofIndian Flowers, Their Myths, Traditions & Usage was published in 2019 and in 2020 three of her short stories were published in an anthology – None Of A Kind. With this book, My Colour is Love, Jhelum focuses on her first
love – poetry.
