Tara Shivani Gopinath
Tara Shivani Gopinath, Shivani as she is called, is an ebullient 11 year old 6th grader studying in Abacus Montessori School, Perungudi, Chennai. Her passion for stories began when she started talking. Apart from being an avid reader herself, her interests include sewing, cooking, swimming and basketball. She also learns music and karate in her spare time. Among her other achievements, she holds a Guinness Record for being an official participant in the largest electronic keyboard ensemble that consisted of 440 participants. Her fondness for animals doesn't stop with just having sheep, fish and dog for pets. She aspires to protect the homeless ones in her neighbourhood as well. Like most children of her age, Shivani is also aware of the hazards of using plastic. Therefore, she has not only stopped using plastic but also advocates the same to her friends, some of whom have started following her footsteps in avoiding the use of single-use plastic. One also gets glimpses of her neologistic skills throughout the book where she uses terms like yetiess, gentleyeti, Goliver and so on.
